A letter from the founder By Nikk Matson, Founder & CEO, Billbords

My life rests on two strong foundations: my two young daughters and my journey as an entrepreneur.

They may seem like different worlds — but to me, they share the same core values: playfulness, growth, and ownership.

I’m a present father, and I have the privilege of combining family life with my entrepreneurial drive. That balance gives me purpose, clarity, and momentum.

At just 13, I knew where I was headed. Business fascinated me — not just for the hustle, but for the opportunity to create something real. That early drive shaped everything that’s followed.

Today, I run Billbords — a company built to make digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising as seamless as Uber is for taxis or Booking.com is for hotels.

We simplify outdoor advertising through smart tools, bold thinking, and real-world results. By combining creativity, strategic clarity, and financial discipline, I’ve built a model designed for scale — one that delivers real value to both customers and creators.

The DOOH industry is growing at rocket speed — already a multi-billion-dollar market that continues to expand year after year. The real question isn’t whether it will grow. It’s how much of that growth will run through us.

That’s the game I’ve chosen.

And to play it right, I live by five personal pillars — what I call staying fit in every dimension that matters:

Physically fit
I train hard, move daily, and fuel my body like my business depends on it — because it does. Energy is a competitive advantage.

Mentally fit
I chase hard problems, stay curious, and lean into discomfort. "Even if" is my mindset — not "what if."

Emotionally fit
I lead with honesty, feel fully, and never filter who I am. Authenticity isn’t soft — it’s a superpower.

Financially fit
I invest in clarity — books, mentors, experience. I run lean and long — always building for scale, not hype.

Spiritually fit
I make space for silence, stillness, and reflection. When the inside is aligned, the outside moves faster.

This is how I live. This is how I build. And this is what I bring into every part of Billbords — from product to people to partners.
